HTC Confirmed Manufacturing Dual-Camera Smartphones in 2018
2018 will be a “year of dual-camera smartphone” for HTC. According to the HTC President Chialin Chang, the company will release 5 to 6 devices with the aim of setting up a dual camera feature on at least one of the devices to be released. He said the company will definitely be releasing a dual-camera phone next year, but has to figure out how to make this feature stand out.
Apparently, the Taiwanese company had shied away from making dual-camera phones but has finally decided to take up the challenge. Although HTC has released dual-camera smartphones before, the HTC EVO 3D, which used dual-camera to capture 3D images and the HTC One M8 which had a “Duo Camera” setup for depth data recording.
However, dual rear camera is not a new technology, there have been many devices with dual cameras before, many of which had been HTC devices. HTC is aiming at bringing impactful smartphones to the market. In addition, the U11+ and U11 are indications that next year, they will have a good chance of making their presence felt again in the smartphone business.
