Whatsapp Will Stop Working on the Following phones After Dec 31

Whastapp will no longer support phones with some operating systems in 2019. The Facebook owned company is a popular messaging platform that has over a billion active users. The app has seen extensive usage in many countries including Nigeria.

“We’ll no longer actively develop for these operating systems; some features might stop functioning at any time. If you currently use an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version…,” WhatsApp said on its support page.

The news has been greeted with surprise as a lot of people still use old phones. It also comes at a time when people will be looking to send holiday messages to their loved ones.

The tech company has been adding a lot of features for a while now. The new features including group calls and others have been greeted really well by users.
