Samsung Galaxy S9 is coming in 2018
The next flagship of the South Korean company has been leaked. Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus which is said to be launch on March 2018. While others suggest the S9 will launch in January which seems too early to launch another smartphone. Nevertheless, these companies are not taking changes as the competition in 2018 will be very high, given the foldable phones that are already in line to be tossed into the market. Latest leaks suggest the phone will have an Exynos 9810 chipset and just 4GB of RAM.
According to investors, Samsung and Qualcomm have started working on a new mobile chip which is likely to be called the Snapdragon 845, since the Snapdragon 835 is already used in Samsung Galaxy S8. However the power or performance of the Snapdragon 845 chipset, is unknown. It will include an LTE modem which supports theoretical download speeds of 1.2Gbps, faster than any other phone. This means you can download a HD movie within seconds.
Samsung Galaxy S9: Expectations
Although the Samsung Galaxy S8 is still shiny and new, there are other features we would love to see in the coming Samsung Galaxy S9.
- A foldable screen
Foldable Screens are the real deal for 2018 and lot of smartphone companies have taken this path to manufacture phones comes next year. An executive from Samsung said that the company doesn’t plan to launch a fully foldable phone until at least 2019, but plans may change.
- Dual-lens camera
Considering the camera improvements and advancements on the Galaxy S8, Samsung will need to push the camera setup in the phone to a dual-lens setup on the Galaxy S9 to make it stand out. Rumors had it that Samsung was also working on a dual-lens shooter like the iPhone 7 Plus and LG G6 but it never came into reality.
- A fingerprint sensor under the screen
It was made clear that Samsung had intentions of moving the fingerprint sensor under the screen for the Galaxy S8, but there wasn’t enough time to work on that. Instead they included a touch-sensitive home button. This time, we looking forward to seeing a fingerprint sensor below the screen.
