Samsung foldable phone rumoured to launch next year

Samsung is putting all efforts into being unbeatable in the Tech world of smartphones. Another rumor has flooded the internet that the company may release a foldable phone- Galaxy X next year. The report was made by Business Korea, which I quote “Samsung should stick to its recently confirmed plans, and launch the Galaxy X next year”.

It was also reported that Samsung’s mobile division chief DJ Koh said in September that they aim to launch a foldable smartphone next year.

Business Korea says that the Galaxy X will likely be able to fold inward, having a foldable panel with a curvature of 1.0R. Nothing else is certain.

Samsung is expected make the panel slim and flexible. On the other side, it was reported that Apple and LG is also working on a foldable phone. Business Korea says that LG Display is working on foldable panels with 2.5R and 1.0R curvatures. The documentation revealed the phone could have a micro-LED display.

Will all these phones hit the market by 2018, which will come out first? If so, 2018 may be a year of foldable phones, do you anticipate this shift?
