Samsung has reportedly been working on a flip handset design with flagship specifications level named SM-W2018. However this has yet to be confirmed. According to the SamMoblie, the flip phone will have a Snapdragon 835 system-on-a-chip, the same found in US models of its Galaxy S8, the processor will be joined by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with a 2,300mAh battery pack to keep the handset smooth and running.
How interesting can this get? A flip phone with flagship spec. More intriguingly, reports have it that the W2018 will have a pair of 4.2-inch full HD displays, giving the phone a foldable feature without the need for trying to fit actual flexible display tech.
Usually, such flip phones are mostly reserved for the Chinese Phone market where they are very common, but surprisingly, if Samsung really has a flip phone with flagship specification level, then there is a possibility that the South Korean electronics company would want to spread flip phone design further.
The flip phone is expected to come out the latest Android version and if it comes with the dual displays, it is likely to be very pricey in fact much more expensive than the Galaxy Note 8. The W2018 is also being tested as SamMobile noted a firmware with the version number W2018ZCU0AQ19.
However, Samsung is still on it and rumours are spreading very fast about the “flagship specification level flip phone.” Blending the old and the new is an amazing concept.
